 Dear Friends, Well it is so good to report that we closed on the property with Faith Baptist Church on the 10th of December. The closing price was $250,000 for 12.5 acres of land and 41,000 sq. feet of building. “God is so Good!” We’re at home here and will have so much more room to grow. The hardest thing was giving back the $350,000 grant, with the need so great for remodeling the old buildings. I know our Lord will provide as the time comes. He has been teaching me this for a few years now. Bro. Ernie Mills of the Durham Rescue Mission honored us by speaking at our Donor and Volunteer Appreciation banquet which was also on the 10 th of December. It was a great time of fellowship with our friends. All who came have helped the mission in someway either with time and labor, or financial support. Some have helped from the beginning and some just started this year. At Crossroads, we are celebrating our tenth year of being incorporated as a rescue mission, and starting our ninth year of service to our community. We spent the first year working on the building and getting things ready in the community. The amazing thing is that there are still people just finding out what all we do! With the purchase of the property, we can now start to remodel some of the dorm rooms in the lower level. This will make room for about 20 more beds.Bro. Ernie has made a pledge of giving $10,000.00 toward the remodeling of these rooms, bathrooms, and classrooms if people who have not given in two years will match his pledge! The new project will cost about $120,000 for the heat and air and remodeled bathrooms. I know some of you were waiting to see when we were going to build the new building before you gave again, but God has done something greater than just build a building. Anyone can do that. God has astonished men and women by what He has done in the healing of relationships, and the confirming of the place and the call of Crossroads Rescue Mission in our community. We are here to stay, and it is all because of our Great God! Please pray for us, and our men also, and the work on the women’s mission. Times may be hard but God is still able. Our vision is great but time is so short. Pray for our men this new year, that God will do great things in them, with them, and through them. In Christ, Romans 8:28  |
